Our process for gutter installation begins with your very first phone call or website contact form. We will work with you to set up a FREE appointment with one of our expert estimators who will create a proposal unique to your home or business and tailor it to your specifications. You have the option at the end of your appointment to sign the proposal, but if you would prefer to wait, we will email your personalized proposal for review. When you are ready to install it is as simple as one phone call to our office, who will then email you the final proposal to be signed. Upon receiving your signed proposal our office staff will then schedule your installation and contact you with your official week, day, and time. On average installations are scheduled within two weeks following the day our office receives your signed proposal.

LA Rain Pros is committed to customer satisfaction, which is why we will never ask for payment until your gutter installation is complete and you are satisfied with our crews’ work. Our crews can accept cash and check payments at the jobsite and can provide you with a receipt that day. If you would prefer to wait our office can send you an invoice once they receive the completed paperwork from our crews. Our office accepts cash and check as well, but you are also welcome to pay with a credit/debit card over the phone.

It is important to perform a regular cleaning of your gutters to prevent clogging, grime, mold, algae, and even moss. How often you should clean you gutters depends on where you live and the conditions your gutters are subject to. However, we recommend cleaning your gutters at least 4 times a year, especially if your home or business is in close proximity to trees.

It is important that you have all the necessary safety equipment when cleaning your gutters at home. Some items that we recommend include thick gloves, safety glasses or goggles, and a face mask or covering. In addition, a cloth or sponge will help you remove tough grime. You should avoid using materials such as metal brushes or steel wool, as these materials can dull and scratch aluminum gutters.

For general cleaning, many home improvement stores offer gutter cleaning solutions, but a cheaper option may be to mix your own solution at home. For cleaning the outside of your gutters, a mixture of water and white vinegar or a nonabrasive household detergent works well for removing surface level stains.

Tiger stripes are the vertical lines or stripes that you may have noticed on your aluminum rain gutters. Over time, and without regular cleaning, dirt and pollution will make the top of the gutters dirty. Once moisture mixes with the dirt, it will begin to stream along the front of the gutters. If the problem continues, the lines will become darker and eventually stripes will form.

Tiger stripes are much tougher stains to clean off gutters than normal dirt and grime, and often    require harsher cleaning solutions to remove them. That is why you may want to call a professional gutter cleaning service if you spot these pesky stripes staining your gutters.

However, if you prefer to clean it yourself, we recommend Johnson S C Inc 00286 Fantastik All-Purpose Cleaner. Heavier stains may not be completely removed the first time and may acquire additional cleanings. After rinsing the gutters with water, it is important to wait for them to fully dry before attempting to clean the stains again.

It is possible to install gutters on an angled facia board using two different methods. The first method involves the use of stainless-steel T-straps that can hook into the gutter and screws into the roof decking. The second method uses a wedge designed to be inserted onto the back of the gutter. This wedge creates a flat surface for the gutter to sit on.

It is recommended that gutters be installed under the drip edge. Drip edge is an important component to any home, as it promotes water to run freely down your roof edge down into you gutters. Without drip edge water may run down or behind your gutter, down facia board and siding, and can eventually lead to damage. When working correctly, drip edge and gutters work together to control the direction of the water and protect the underlying components of the building.

The average gutter installation can be completed within one day. Therefore, the day of your installation is typically the day that the job will be completed. However, two-story buildings or buildings with many obstacles could take longer.

The average price of a 2,000 square foot home with 6” aluminum gutters will typically fall somewhere between $1,300 to $1,700.

**Due to current material shortages prices may be temporarily subject to change.

Occasionally we have leaking gutters. The first step to fixing a leak is to determine the cause. There are several things that can cause gutters to begin leaking such as debris, damage, or any external home repair, improvement, or remodel such as a new roof. The first thing that you can do is make sure that your gutters are not clogged in any way. Clogged gutters can cause water to build up over time and even cause a blockage that leaves no room for the water to flow properly. This may cause your gutters to begin to leak or overflow. Clogged gutters are a simple fix and often it will be easy enough to remove the debris (leaves, pine straw, etc.) yourself.

If you notice that your gutters are clear of all debris, but you are still experiencing leaking gutters, we recommend calling our office. Every gutter installation job performed by LA Rain Pros is under warranty and we can schedule a time to come out to inspect, identify, and fix the problem. If LA Rain Pros did not perform the original gutter installation, we can still repair the leak for a minimal service charge.

Water leaking from behind gutters, for example between the gutter and the facia board, is often due to a roofing or other external issue rather than a problem with the gutters. The most common issues that can cause water to leak from behind the gutters are short shingle overhangs and shingle ski slopes (occurs when the shingles curl up at the end). The good thing is that both problems are easy to fix by adding drip edge or a gutter apron to redirect the water back into the gutters.

Garage Doors

On average new garage doors with a motor cost somewhere between $1,300 to $1,600 depending on the accessories (windows, insulation, handles, etc.) that are added to the door.

A normal garage door installation takes about two hours. During this time, the technician will assemble the door, track, motor, and all other required accessories. They will also mount the door and program the sensors, keypad, and openers to ensure that everything is working correctly.

It is recommended that a garage door is serviced at least twice a year to ensure that it remains in peak condition. LA Rain Pros garage door technicians are expertly trained and certified. During a service visit our technician will take the following steps to ensure your garage door is safe and in working order:

    1. Visual Inspection: Look at springs, cables, rollers, and pulleys to determine if they are working correctly or need to be repaired or replaced.
    2. Lubrication: This is an essential service performed by our technicians that minimizes the wear on parts every time the door opens.
    3.  Door Balance: Tests weather the door lifts without much effort or resistance. If there is, adjustments or repairs to various parts may be required. These repairs can be provided by our technicians.

There is nothing wrong with wanting an insulated garage door or a non-insulated one, but there are differences between the two that each buyer should be aware of when deciding which door will work better for their home or commercial building.

Insulated garage doors are normally constructed with two layers of steel surrounding one layer of insulation. Insulated garage doors are thick, energy-efficient, and typically recommended for most homes. The only real drawback of insulated doors is that they typically cost more than non-insulated doors. However, you may consider the price a worthwhile investment because insulated doors often increase the value of a home.

Non-insulated garage doors are more commonly used for detached garages and are more common in regions with a milder climate. While a non-insulated door may save you more money initially, they are noisier when operating and tend to be less attractive than an insulated door because they appear thinner and less sturdy.

Garage doors come in a variety of colors. However, most contractors will install a white garage door and then paint it to match the home. If you would prefer to order a specific color garage door rather than have it painted, LA Rain Pros offers all available colors and can order the door for you so that it does not have to be painted after installation.

One common problem is that the eye sensors are not aligned. Eye sensors are located about six inches off the ground on either side of the garage door. The sensors send out an invisible beam that connects them, and if anything impairs or blocks that beam then the circuit is broken, and the signal cannot be sent to the door. Some signs that the sensors are not working include, blinking lights on the sensors, the garage door can go up but does not come back down, and the door begins to close but then goes back up on its own. You should check to make sure nothing is obscuring the sensors connection. Even the sun can affect the sensors so you may want to wait until the garage door is shaded. You may also want to wipe the sensors with a cloth to get rid of any dust or debris particles.

Another problem may be that the door itself is not engaged. If your garage door does not open, but the motor runs for a few seconds and then shuts off, the garage door may have been locked. If you have checked for obstacles and there appear to be none, check to see if the lock on the door is engaged. This lock typically looks like a knob or handle in the middle of your door with two bars running horizontally from each side. To unlock the door simply turn the handle until you hear a clicking sound. This will move the bars away from the edges and secure the handle in an open position.

If you have tried both suggestions above and the problem is still occurring, we recommend giving us a call as there may be a more serious issue that could pose a safety risk to attempt to fix on your own.

Typically, our technicians will program your keypad for you on the day that they install your garage door. However, if we did not install your garage door, you replaced the keypad, or you would like to change your keypad pin, then the following steps will allow you to program the keypad yourself:

Clear the garage door area of any obstructions.

    1. Locate the LEARN button on the keypad.
    2. Press the LEARN button twice. The LED will flash.
    3. Enter a 4-digit pin of your choice on the keypad, and press ENTER.
    4. The opener lights will blink, indicating the PIN programming is complete.
